TK Retail & Office Design & Refurbishment Consultants - Projects

Xtras Accessories, Leeds, West Yorkshire

Due to lease expiry on the current building, Xtras had an urgent requirement for premises in the Leeds city centre to maintain its strong presence in the city. Temporary premises were found on Commercial Street, Leeds, where TK Retail Design Consultants designed a cost effective short term fit out to meet Xtras short term requirements. This location proved so successful that Xtras have taken out a full lease on the premises and TK Retail Design have undertaken an upgrade of the fit out to convert this to a permanent Leeds city centre retail store.

Xtras are continuing their expansion with the introduction of a mall stalls in the Westfield Centre Derby, Harlequin Centre Watford, Bull Ring Birmingham and the Bluewater Centre in Dartford.

As part of its expansion programme, Xtras have appointed TK Retail Design to design a new upmarket concept to build a double unit in the Meadowhall Centre, Sheffield. This will be the template for future designs for stores refurbishment and refits.

Dazzle Perfume Retailer, Doncaster, South Yorkshire

TK Retail Design were contracted by independent perfume retailer, Dazzle, to prepare a concept design and to project manage the fit out of the new retail store in the Frenchgate Centre Doncaster.

TK Retail Design became involved following the landlord’s request to relocate Dazzle from their existing site within the Frenchgate Centre. The project called for a completely new retail image for Dazzle, which required the development of new counter displays and colour schemes. TK Retail Design Consultancy was involved at all stages of the project including negotiations with the landlord on issues including design concept and budget constraints.

Bagir UK Ltd

TK Retail Design were commissioned by Bagir UK Ltd, an international manufacturing organisation who make suits shirts for M&S, Next, House of Fraser and John Lewis. We were required to design a concession layout for a fast track roll out of their in-house brands of Simon Carter and the internationally renowned Patrick Cox, to be displayed in the formal wear departments of House of Fraser. The brief was to provide an image to promote the brands on another wise uninspiring gents formal wear floor.

The result was a combination of strong graphics, colours and striking contemporary floor fixtures, optimising the brand profile and product range within the store.

This concept was rolled out in 14 stores over a period of 11 days. The designs have been so successful that Bagir have asked TK Retail Design to develop the concept further as a flat pack installation, to be built in the David Jones department store chain throughout Australia and the Middle East.

Office Refurbishment, Sheffield

Our expertise is not limited to retail fit out. We were recently requested by WH Consultancy to prepare a design scheme for a major office refurbishment in Sheffield. This followed our successful relationship with WH Consultancy, when we designed and project managed what is now Waterstone's major store in the Frenchgate Centre in Doncaster.

Wedding Gown Salon Design

Your job as a bridal salon owner is to not just win the next sale, but to do so by making the brides-to-be feel like queens-for-a-day, and helping brides to plan the biggest day of their lives should be exciting, with a little pampering to boot.

Wedding Inspiration & Fantasy

A beautiful bridal shop can inspire and encourage a bride to fantasize about her wedding. While a bridal shop must carry a wide array of merchandise to suit many styles and sizes, the décor of the shop is what attracts attention from the street and makes customers feel welcome while they look and try on dresses. Through incorporating gentle colour, the latest looks and making the atmosphere relaxing, brides and their guests will have no trouble spending time and money in your shop.

Keep it simple, have lots of mirrors strategically placed, small tables and chairs for an intimate chat with your clients, and good-sized fitting rooms.

Adding soft music makes a showroom feel more inviting and relaxing when a customer first walks in. In addition, air fresheners or fresh flowers add a pleasant aroma for an overall pleasant sensory experience.

Wedding Dress Salon Lighting

Suspend decorative chandeliers or soft-textured lights from the ceiling or hang sconces along the walls to make up the main light for the shop. Add small table lamps around the main show area where bride's entourage may sit while the bride changes.

Fill empty wall space with glass shelves which feature tiaras, veils and garters, or hang framed, professional portraits of past brides or bridal posters featuring a favourite designer.

Make sure you display the gowns which you want new brides to see when they come in on mannequins near the centre of the shop, by a street facing window or by the dressing room. Change these displays regularly.

The most important aspect of owning and running a bridal shop is to make the bride-to-be feel at ease. They are probably very nervous and excited and can get overwhelmed by the whole experience. Paula and Danielle at One Special Day Bridal Salon can do just that to perfection, making it an experience you will remember.
